This toy is handmade with 100%. Wool made out of scraps of handwoven wool by the indigenous women of San Cristóbal de las Casas in Los Altos de Chiapas, Mexico.
Known as the state with the largest indigenous people in all of Mexico, Chiapaneco(a)'s, as the people are called, for generations have created handcrafts which sustain their culture and traditions. The making of these 'Animalitos' can take up to a few days and are part of how the older generations continue to contribute to their communities. We work directly with artisans in Los Altos de Chiapas, Mexico to provide you an authentic and genuine artisan made piece that enforces our efforts of sharing their traditions.
